Another Look At The Afghan National Who Raped A Missoula Woman And The Media Who Protected Him – by Travis Mateer

When Zabihullah Mohmand raped an 18 year old Missoula woman he met at the Badlander in downtown Missoula in 2021, the question of vetting was front and center, with Republican politicians like Matt Rosendale suggesting a pause be instituted.

The victim, identified in court documents as Jane Doe, told police that she had met Mohmand at the Badlander along with other people.

When the group left, the woman went with Mohmand to his hotel room.

She says he forced himself on her and raped her.

He told law enforcement he is on a worldwide trip from Afghanistan visiting Missoula.

DPHHS manages the Montana State Refugee Program. As such, this program is working with individuals arriving in Montana as part of the Afghan Placement and Assistance Program. As of today, 20 individuals (combination of adults and children) are in Montana (Missoula) as part of the Afghan Placement and Assistance Program. This is since late September. To be clear, federal agencies are responsible for the vetting process prior to their arrival,” Ebelt told KECI News in an email.

We reached out to the International Rescue Committee for comment and have not heard back.

Gov. Greg Gianforte, Sen. Steve Daines and Rep. Matt Rosendale called for Afghan resettlement efforts to be put on pause because of the case, adding proper vetting for incoming Afghans needs to be conducted.

After this incident took place, a propaganda rag called “The Daily Montanan” went into damage control mode by “reporting” how Republicans were raising questions about relocating Afghan nationals. I’ll get to why The Daily Montanan is a propaganda rag after the quote:

The letter from Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas to U.S. Sen. Jon Tester, a Montana Democrat, outlines the vetting process Mohmand went through.

“[Mohmand] completed the rigorous and multi-layered screening and vetting process,” the letter reads. “Prior to being granted entry into the United States, no derogatory information, including a criminal record, was identified.”

The process includes vetting by the Department of Defense, Homeland Security, the FBI, the National Counterterrorism Center and other intelligence agencies. Together the agencies analyze fingerprints, photos and other biometric and biographic data for every Afghan evacuee. Evacuees then undergo further screening from U.S. Customs and Border Protection when they arrive at a U.S. port of entry.

If Mohmand is convicted or pleads guilty to the charge and is found to be in violation of his parole conditions, he could be subject to removal proceedings, the letter states.

The Daily Montanan, according to this article, is a parrot of dark money that regurgitates third party content from sources like the innocuous sounding “States Newsroom”, an entity funded, in part, by Swedish billionaire Hans Wyss. Here’s a little context on this NON-citizen manipulating US elections with his information warfare from Wikipedia:

In 2021, The New York Times reported that Wyss had “quietly created a sophisticated political operation to advance progressive policy initiatives and the Democrats who support them”. In 2015, the Wyss Foundation initiated The Hub Project, which seeks “to shape media coverage to help Democratic causes”. The goal of The Hub Project is to help Democrats be more effective at conveying their arguments through the news media and directly to voters. It seeks to “dramatically shift the public debate and policy positions of core decision makers”. The Hub Project engaged in paid advertising campaigns in 2018 that criticized Republican congressional candidates.

The Hub Project is part of Arabella Advisors, a leading vehicle for funneling “dark money” on the political center-left. The Hub Project is housed within the Arabella-sponsored groups the New Venture Fund and the Sixteen Thirty Fund. Wyss has donated $245 million to the Sixteen Thirty Fund and the New Venture Fund since 2016. The Sixteen Thirty Fund gives directly to political committees and pays for TV ads that back specific candidates and causes. In 2022, the FEC said the Sixteen Thirty Fund should be required to register as a political committee, which would require more disclosure.

The New Venture Fund underwrites Acronym, which owns the Courier Newsroom, a group seeking to boost Democratic candidates through local news stories and advertising. The Wyss Foundation has donated to States Newsroom, a nonprofit media group. Media watchdog NewsGuard said State Newsroom’s journalism had been “bought by people with a political agenda”.

So, what’s our Afghan rapist up to these days? You won’t read that Zabihullah Mohmand is challenging his removal in court in the Daily Montanan because, as I’ve indicated, that rag is part of an information war against Montanans, but I found the recent court filing online and will provide MY readers with content no other news outlet has reported on yet.

Before we allow these immigrant pawns to suck up all the attention, it’s critical to note how the CIA was directly involved in fucking up this latest particular asylum-seeking killer. I’ll quote from the New York Times reporting for any liberal hate-readers out there trying to suppress wrong-think from bubbling up in their stupid fucking brains:

The Afghan refugee accused of shooting two National Guard members in Washington, D.C., fought in the late days of the U.S. war there as part of a “Zero Unit,” a paramilitary force that worked with the C.I.A., according to a person briefed on the investigation and an Afghan intelligence officer familiar with the matter. The units were known for their brutality and labeled “death squads” by human rights groups.

While this context is interesting, my concern is that the stupid fucking brains that comprise liberal group-think are hoping to make this Afghan killer into a poor victim of his tough job committing acts of violence in his home country for the CIA. Isn’t that what this additional context seems to be setting up?

The suspect, identified by federal officials as Rahmanullah Lakanwal, 29, grew up in a village in the eastern province of Khost. A childhood friend, who asked to be identified only as Muhammad because he feared Taliban reprisals, said that Mr. Lakanwal had suffered from mental health issues and was disturbed by the casualties his unit had caused.

“He would tell me and our friends that their military operations were very tough, their job was very difficult, and they were under a lot of pressure,” Muhammad said.

The CIA and their minions in the media are the REAL enemy here, but ousting those treasonous, anti-democratic pieces of shit is too heavy a lift for such heavily indoctrinated American citizens, so the LARP on both sides of the political aisle will continue unabated.

The Thanksgiving Survival Post No One Asked For – by Travis Mateer

Today’s post is NOT for those who will be enjoying time with their family today. It’s for those who have nothing but an obnoxious slog ahead of them to look forward to. For those peeps, here are some things (besides drinking yourself into oblivion) that may help pass the time.

GET CRAFTY!

If you have a pair of scissors, some glue or scotch tape, and some old newspapers or magazines, then you have the makings for GETTING CRAFTY! Stop letting AI have all the fun with image-creation and go OLD SCHOOL with the simple joy of collage. Trust me, with the right material, you’ll be having some legit fun in NO TIME!

What I did, as evidenced by the pic above, was take an actual political cartoon that wasn’t funny at all and, with some quick snips, I’ve made it VERY FUNNY! Of course, humor is often in the eye of the beholder, so don’t go try spreading your unique “holiday cheer” to others because, these days, everyone is SO DAMN SENSITIVE!

While pairing this activity with day-drinking is the obvious choice, non-drinkers like myself may want to roll up something special to, you know, enhance creative decision making.

GET MELODIC!

If the video above doesn’t work out (like my marriage), then this link will take you to the musical stylings of my broken heart. It’s much nicer for the ears when words like “cunt” and “stunt” are sung along to ukulele chords. Also, putting energy into creating a song will hopefully distract you from firing off that email you know you shouldn’t have pressed “send” on.

GET POETIC!

If it all seems a little too depressing and pointless–like hoping a ceasefire actually means a ceasefire–then USE YOUR WORDS! It’s exponentially more constructive and less provocative than executing soldiers in your host-country.

This poem, for example, was inspired by the impressive passion of the tiny hat people, and a movie, starring Hugh Grant, titled Heretic. I hope you enjoy it!

there's a fire at the ceasefire
but please do not feel sad
please trapeze uneasy feelings
away from saying bad

is any action taken by
the passion of the hat
more powerful than tinfoil
when lasers rain attack

Hugh will grant you access
you little Mormon lass
who will say it's heresy
to mow before the grass

grows beyond the limit
the timid will not name
Grant says true religion
is control the whole damn game!

maybe you're retarded
maybe you are woke
maybe you're a little baby
who doesn't get the joke

I am sick of plastic dicks
and rotting pussy holes
the algorithm hates us and
is coming for our souls

watch the skies for pretty lies
our cosmic friends are here!
Katy Perry was the prophet
lubing up the gears

to Zion for the mighty lion
with Babalon perfume
Aleister must be happy
he made the will go BOOM!

wingspan with my daughter
water with my boys
returning from inversion
is a heavy thing to hoist

do not be retarded
inertia is for punks
only YOU can YOU YOU...
and do not trust the monks

I know, probably not the kind of poetry that will win me any friends at the Sherwood community poetry library, but do they have a first edition copy of Hart Crane’s The Bridge I spent a grand of divorce money on? I seriously doubt it.

One final holiday note to the left LARP dumbly provoking the right LARP with the rationale that National Guard deaths occurred because Trump put them there. To use that kind of thinking, one might reach further back in history to claim yesterday’s deaths were the result of allowing a treasonous three letter agency to continue institutionally breathing instead of smothering it like JFK envisioned. Just a thought before you dig in to gobble turkey flesh.

Does Missoula Deserve An Accurate Refugee Count? – by Travis Mateer

Before we get to the blatant emotional manipulation from The Pulp and the pre-election retraction demands from Harvard Mayor Davis about refugee numbers, I want to remind readers how far back I saw the problem with turning Missoula into a hub for refugee resettlement efforts by linking to this 2016 piece I wrote, titled Housing Refugees Amidst Skyrocketing Housing Prices. Here’s a paragraph from the prescient piece:

When I mention scarce resources for the disadvantaged already struggling in our community, I am told all the funding is from different pools and will have no negative impact. But the one resource that supporters of bringing 100 refugees a year to Missoula don’t have an adequate retort for is one of the most crucial: housing.

Yes, back then the estimate was that roughly 100 refugees would be resettled each year, starting in 2016. Doing the kind of basic math that seems to terrorize our Harvard-trained Mayor, that puts the number of refugees at 900, which is 400 hundred more than the claim at Soft Landing’s website, which clearly states the following about refugee numbers:

Over 500 people have arrived in Missoula as refugees since 2016, when Soft Landing Missoula started. Since then, our work has expanded to include creating a long welcome, not only for people who arrive through the refugee resettlement process, but also through any other immigration pathway. We look to engage everyone from early English-language learners to proficient speakers and new arrivals to people who have been in Missoula for quite some time.

Does Soft Landing actually track those “other immigration pathways”? This is an important question because, before the election, a much higher number was offered to Harvard Mayor Davis that she didn’t immediately shoot down, leading to Ginny Merriam (the Mayor’s communication bulldog ) having to do some heavy-handed damage control by demanding that Western Montana News do the bidding of the Mayor’s office. If you didn’t click the link to the Western Montana News’ post above about this political drama, here it is again, along with an excerpt:

The City of Missoula is demanding corrections to a Western Montana News opinion piece, claiming “misinformation” about Mayor Andrea Davis acknowledging migrant placement numbers—but city officials refuse to provide actual figures when pressed for transparency.

Communications Director Ginny Merriam sent a Sunday afternoon email at the mayor’s request, demanding Western Montana News retract statements from a March opinion piece that accurately reported Mayor Davis acknowledged “over 3,000 alien migrants had been placed in Missoula over the last four years.”

Merriam characterized the reporting as “disinformation” and claimed the mayor “has never met with the Montana Veterans Association,” citing safety concerns about social media comments targeting the mayor during election season.

However, Montana Veterans Association President and CEO Samuel Pascal Redfern contradicts the city’s account, confirming that Mayor Davis did meet with MVA members at the December 13 Pachyderm Club meeting where she publicly acknowledged the ~3,000 migrant placement figure.

Safety concerns? What a joke. I’ll believe the Mayor is serious about safety when she stops playing the victim card while also saying stupid shit, like equating what happens to flags vs. what happens to actual people in this town, especially when the threat of political violence is much more plausible when coming from the left (at least during this current moment in our country’s history).

Davis issued a statement on Wednesday condemning the behavior, saying she opposes any form of harassment, intimidation and vandalism.

She adds she’s disappointed by the divisiveness that’s overtaken our country, citing other acts of vandalism like theft of pride flags.

She wrapped up by saying the incident at the fair is the county commissioners’ jurisdiction.

These are the words of a pathetic political coward who will do ANYTHING to maintain the perception of moral high ground. And who can blame her when “award-winning” media upstarts put out shit like this about the safety net unraveling for refugees in Missoula:

When Abeer Naji and her husband arrived in Missoula in 2023, they didn’t have much. Clothes, some headscarves, $50 and a beautiful, timeworn silver watch Naji received as a gift from a friend in her home country of Yemen. That watch had traveled with her for years and across multiple countries as she and her family sought safety and permanence, eventually finding themselves in the snowy, welcoming corner of the Northern Rockies.

As a newly resettled refugee from a small war-torn country on the Arabian Sea, Naji relied heavily on Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, colloquially known as SNAP — federal benefits made legally available to refugees and asylum seekers alongside the millions of native and naturalized U.S. citizens who rely on them. Now a lawful permanent resident, or green card holder, Naji continues to depend on those supports to complement her meager retail wages and help her care for a husband who faces significant health issues. The freedom to no longer worry about such essentials has allowed Naji to build a reputation in Missoula as an advocate and informal advisor for fellow refugees, and as a consummate gifter of food and homebrewed chai among the staff of Soft Landing, the local resettlement nonprofit that helped her begin her life here.

Do you see from this quote why nothing in Missoula will change? When privileged white liberal women get home-brewed chai delivered to them by their social justice pets, all is right in the world. The rest of us can just fuck right off with our pesky inquiries, like proof of what basic math is telling us. I don’t think the following meme has ever felt more appropriate:

The answer to the question posed in the title of this post is pretty straight-forward: NO! You do NOT deserve an accurate refugee count, Missoula, and the reason is because accurate facts might help the bads, like me and scary Veterans who make cowardly politicians with Liberal White Woman syndrome quake, so just accept the pretend number of 500 and move on already!

For an example of how I’ve been covering this issue over the last 9 years, here are some additional posts to peruse. Isn’t funny that I used to be a progressive?

What Does Tonight’s Downtown Gun Incident Mean For “Public Safety”? – by Travis Mateer

I’ve had a few new commenters recently but the one I’m thinking of after the shooting tonight in downtown Missoula is the one who inquired what kind of retard I am. Why? Because the post, as the title indicates—“The Real Dynamics Behind The “Emerging Issue” Of Youth Gang Activity”—is about gang activity in Missoula and how the narrative around “gangs” needs to be carefully controlled, lest we spook the golden college geese and lucrative tourist trade.

To answer “reno’s” question, I’m the type of retard who goes TOWARD the shelter in place rope-off zone because I wanted to see for myself how Missoula’s version of the wild west turned the Tuesday before Thanksgiving into a two-block crime scene. I wonder if any visiting tourists were out for a brisk stroll around 7:30pm-8:00pm when gunshots rang out by the parking garage? Not a good look.

While I can’t say at this point that the Griz losing their football game had anything to do with the shooting, I certainly CAN (and did) crack a joke at the Rhino insinuating someone didn’t appreciate losing. Maybe I still had Ty Gregorak on the brain—the former Griz football coach who got fired from his UNLV coaching job after stealing a bouncer’s gun and wallet in Colorado. Go Griz!

The comment on Facebook that most specifically describes the incident that occurred tonight is from Tim Christensen. Here’s a screenshot:

Earlier this month, on November 15th, another gun incident allegedly occurred, but this was just a brandishing. Here’s how KGVO reported this incident:

On November 15, 2025, Missoula Police Department officers were dispatched to Pie Hole for a report of intimidation. Officers were informed by dispatch that a 911 call had been placed by an individual who reported a male in a black truck had pulled a pistol on people and had left.

Upon arrival, an officer observed approximately 20 people within the restaurant. The officer received information that the disturbance involved two females. The officer recognized one of the females, P.G., and spoke with her. The other officer spoke with the other female, Z.G.

P.G. stated a male she knew, 29-year-old Robert Zawlocki, was involved in some disturbance at Pie Hole with her three male friends. P.G. stated the disturbance occurred outside on the sidewalk in front of the business. P.G. said that once the males separated from each other, Robert walked eastbound across Higgins Ave., where his black truck was parked. Robert then pulled out a black handgun and pointed it at P.G., Z.G., and the crowd of people inside the Pie Hole.

And here is how I framed the KGVO reporting on X:

What does this mean for public safety? If the public remains largely ignorant of street violence, tonight’s shooting won’t mean anything, and that will be good for those who understand how much is riding on the major development coming to save the lagging Missoula tax base from deficits and TIF remittances. This is why the public MUST be protected from reality.

On Removing The Limited Benefits Of AI For Regular Joes- by Travis Mateer

A recent update to rule requirements for the Fourth Judicial District Court in Montana could have a HUGE impact, but not even the clerk’s office, according to my source, realizes this update has been made. Here’s a screenshot of the update (3G is the requirement to pay attention to):

Why does this matter? I’ll try to explain why this matters in terms those of you who have NOT experienced the mighty dildo of justice can understand.

Lawyers, and the legal system they “work”, are some of the most vile gatekeepers in Montana. When you choose to go “pro se”, like I have tried to do, the judge will tell you how monumentally disadvantaged your legal position will be with handling the most basic functions of the courts, like writing and filing motions. For me, using AI has helped level the playing field, which is skewed to the point of absurdity.

While my use of ChatGPT to navigate the courts has been limited, I know someone who has been using “generative AI” to great success, and because of this success he thinks it’s a little odd that ONLY the Montana Fourth Judicial Court appears to have instituted this new requirement (I haven’t double-checked this claim yet). If true, this could be a quick and sloppy scramble by the almost-totally-fucked judicial system in Montana that used a BBC dildo for my free speech rights while that same judge moved to protect his precious bathrooms.

For a court that I’ve personally seen barely function because it’s clogged with cases and presided over by activist judges (a symptom of society breaking down in real time), this new requirement will allow any case not properly citing the use of generative AI to be thrown out. Pretty interesting for a move that hardly anyone knows about.

Montana’s legal system is far beyond being a bad joke–it’s a lawfare-generating circus run by well-paid clowns who help judges and prosecutors destroy people’s lives. When I had money, I couldn’t find a single law office in all of Western Montana willing to help legally shield me from a professional victim and her United Way-backed campaign to ruin me. And now, after more than two years of hell, I owe hundreds of dollars to district court, hundreds of dollars to misdemeanor supervision, and there’s a $515 dollar hold on my license from the weed DUI the city had to drop when they couldn’t even show up for the trial scheduling.

It’s this unchecked power of prosecutors and judges that I believe has inspired them to play the victim card for themselves under the auspices of “vicarious trauma”. I suspect they know all the lives destroyed by their biased, selective, and increasingly politically-motivated actions make them VERY despised by more and more people. Why else would the bathroom judge bitch about Courthouse security?

Since my most-needed resource right now is money, here’s the link to my gofundme page. Thank you to those who have recently donated and reached out, it’s been quite a painful education these last few years, but the lessons are valuable ones I am trying to appreciate, for what it’s worth.
