If You Don’t See The Censorship That Means You Are Already A Casualty Of Their War

by Travis Mateer

Censorship is ramping up and if you don’t know this is happening that’s because you’re already a casualty.

If you’re a gutless apologist for Big Tech, lecturing those raising the alarm about private companies doing what they want with their private platforms, you probably won’t spend any time reading the perspective of a dissident like Caitlin Johnstone, who wrote this last year:

In a corporatist system of government, where no hard lines are drawn between corporate/financial power and state power, corporate media is state media. Since bribery is legal in the US political system in the form of corporate lobbying and campaign donations, America’s elected government is controlled by wealthy elites who have money to burn and who benefit from maintaining a specific status quo arrangement.

The fact that this same plutocratic class also owns America’s media, which is now so consolidated that it’s almost entirely run by just six corporations, means that the people who run the government also run the media. This allows America’s true rulers to set up a system which promotes narratives that are favorable to their desired status quo.

Which means that the US has state propaganda. They just don’t call it that themselves.

The information warriors for the oligarch class have been VERY busy using the Capitol LARP to aggressively escalate mechanisms of censorship, like demonetizing Youtube accounts and purging “domestic terrorists” from Twitter.

A new front in this war is paid subscription models for content creators like The Last American Vagabond. You think your Patreon account is safe? Think again.

The result of deplatforming and demonetizing content creators will be the balkanization of the internet into more segregated information silos, so instead of reaching out to cognitively occupied sleepwalkers, these creators will be relegated to preaching to their respective choirs.

I know there are people out there awake to what is going on, but they feel alone and isolated. I spoke to an artist about a week ago, and she told me as much. She said she can’t talk to her friends out of fear of being labeled a Trump supporter, even though she was adamant that she is NOT a Trump supporter. She didn’t specific what topic she fears would garner her this label, but when Trump advocated for kids being back in school, if you shared that sentiment, that was enough in the minds of TDS sufferers to equate you with supporting Trump.

Speaking of TDS, members of Congress are exhibiting the virulence of this cognitive illness by ignoring the economic desperation of their constituents to make sure twice-impeached Presidents can’t be “recognized” on federal land, including the Arlington National Cemetery:

House Democrats are trying to make sure no one remembers former President Donald Trump.

With a bill that doesn’t mention Trump’s name but is clearly aimed at him, a collection of Democratic House members are looking to block any “twice impeached” president from pretty much any recognition on federal land. That includes barring federal funds from going toward building a dedicated “highway, park, subway, federal building, military installation, street, or other federal property” as well as preventing that president’s burial at Arlington National Cemetery.

This news is fine for broad dissemination because it’s divisive and reinforces the false narrative that we have two distinct political parties that work in opposition to each other. The reality is we have one corporatist war party that engages in partisan theatrics to keep citizens divided and impotent as the REAL goals of technocratic control is moved into place.

Those awake to this reality understand the hour is late and the war is moving into its final stages. The evidence is out there, hiding in plain sight, but you must use discernment to see it.

On The Not Safe Consumption Of Alcohol

by Travis Mateer

I get it. You want to impose your beliefs on me for my own good and the good of others. It’s to keep us all as safe as possible as an invisible terrorist with spiky proteins stalks us. So you have no problem believing authoritative institutions like the CDC and the latest guidance that wearing TWO masks is better than wearing just ONE.

Since the TRUE BELIEVERS of masks are so so worried about health and safety I’m hoping they will help me impose my belief that alcohol is a terrible substance that destroys lives and therefore needs to be banned completely. Won’t you join me on this journey to save other people from the scourge of booze?

Maybe you think adults can take information and make responsible choices based on that information, like the fact alcohol use impairs judgement and fine motor skills. My high school prom date had to find this out the hard way when her young life was cut short in college due to a drunk driver hitting her as she crossed a street, killing her instantly.

It is my belief that the availability of alcohol has a tremendously negative impact on society, something my years working at the homeless shelter confirmed. So for anyone truly concerned about safety, the only thing to do to keep people AS SAFE AS POSSIBLE is to ban alcohol.

If the TRUE BELIEVERS of mask wearing DO NOT support the ban of alcohol I would like to know why? Do they want to preserve the freedom to choose for themselves whether or not to take a drink of alcohol and increase the risk of negative outcomes, like committing a vehicular homicide?

Now, I don’t actually believe it would be an effective use or resources to ban the use of alcohol. Prohibition failed for a reason, and that reason probably has something to do with people wanting to live their lives as they see fit without nanny state authoritarians dictating how we apply layers of fabric to our faces.

I’d like the TRUE BELIEVERS to think about that as they down that 4th gin and tonic while hunting Trump supporters on Twitter.

Ridin’ With Luigi

by William Skink

if I was Luigi
in pixels I would ride
proudly shooting red shells
with Biden at my side

our enemy is Koopa
a reptilian, Russian spy
and loyalist to Putin
who wants us all to DIE!

Joe, I would say
you gotta take the shot
sorry, he replies, but
Princess Peach is HOT!

damn it Joe, I know,
but that is why we lose
so put her peaches down
you know how quick they bruise

then I'd shake my head
and give a little laugh
shushing Joe's protests
as I pat him on the back

Joe, we're in the Big Leagues now
you gotta step it up
eat this magic mushroom
and drop that evil smut

NO, Joe replies
my brain might be Swiss cheese
but I know who I serve
and who I have to please

The Montana Post And Missoulian Allow Democrat Tom Winter To Spread Misinformation About Violence At The Capitol On January 6th

by Travis Mateer

Joe Biden is a titular figurehead of American power projection who can barely string coherent sentences together. While Texas descends into third world chaos, and Kamala Harris speaks with the French president and other heads of state, President Joe is playing Mario Kart. What inspiring leadership!

As President Joe throws red shells at his granddaughter, a Montana Democrat is throwing misinformation around about January 6th at anyone dumb enough to listen. Here is Tom Winter making the bullshit claim that Capitol policeman Brian Sicknick was bludgeoned to death by a fire extinguisher on January 6th (my emphasis):

Our Governor made his name assaulting a reporter. Then, after failing to buy our governorship for $5 million in 2016, he flipped over the seat cushions in the ol‘ private jet and found another $7 million for the second try. Now he has another mansion – the governor’s – to add to his collection. His former employee, our very own Senator Daines (R), incited a violent coup attempt against our democracy. His mob of traitors beat a police officer to death with a fire extinguisher in the US  Capitol. And then there’s Rep. Rosendale (R), eagerly along for the seditionist ride, grinning like a 58-year-old-schoolboy anytime Fox News needs a talking head to shout conspiratorial lunacy.

This specific misinformation about Capitol violence was first broadcast from journalist LARPers at The Montana Post, and now it’s showing up in the op-ed section of the Missoulian. Isn’t it interesting how the same partisan assholes who want to hunt down Trump supporters for being Qanon conspiracy theorists have no problem publishing easily refutable claims about their political foes?

Tom Winter’s op-ed is shit from start to finish, but I’m glad he wrote it because it gives me the opportunity to remind readers that a few years ago Tom Winter was sniffing a TIF opportunity to enrich his property investment with public money:

A U.S. congressional candidate from Missoula plans to build eight to 10 three-story, high-end townhomes in downtown Missoula near the Clark Fork River.

On Thursday, the Missoula Redevelopment Agency’s board voted unanimously to allow Tom Winter to proceed with work on deconstructing the older houses at 322 Levasseur St.

Winter plans on submitting an application in July for Tax Increment Financing assistance for deconstruction of two buildings and for required public infrastructure upgrades at the site, and the Thursday vote allows him to move forward without prejudicing a future application.

If Democrats want to stop being electoral losers in Montana, I have two quick suggestions to consider: stop using public money like it’s your own personal piggy bank, and stop spreading misinformation about your political opponents.

How Many Trees Can $80,000 in TIF Money Plant Around Your Election Center, Missoula?

by Travis Mateer

It seems like not a week goes by without a story about public TIF money being directed to one of a plethora of uses that stretch WAY beyond the idea of “blight” as defined by the state of Montana.

Since we’re going to be in Covid jails for the next 7 years (until you are finally coerced into taking the poke), and thus, presumably, voting by mail indefinitely, it’s especially galling to see TIF money go to ELECTION infrastructure. From the link:

Missoula County will continue making improvements to its newly acquired elections center on Russell Street, and it’s expected to request tax increment financing from the Missoula Redevelopment Agency next week to aid in the process.

In recent weeks, the county has approved three items related to the center’s renovations, including a request for roughly $670,000 in tax increment from MRA.

Of that funding, around $260,000 will go toward ADA improvements, $80,000 toward landscaping and $330,000 to make improvements to a second building located on the property.

Yes, you’re goddamn right the emphasis on EIGHTY THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR LANDSCAPING is mine. Because what the fuck? Is that the kind of mandate Engen’s MRA sycophants think they have from the Missoula voter?

It’s disgusting but not surprising that MORE than my two best years, financially speaking, in the non-profit sector, are going to plants and shrubs and shit.

Making the expenditure worse, this just adds to the maintenance that will have to be done, and that maintenance will justify some down department budget request for more money, or maybe a creative impact fee, or some other official sounding financial fuckery to extract money from people who can least afford it.

What can I say? Just another typical day in Zoom Town.
