Debra’s Long Digestion Of The Red Pill

by Travis Mateer

When my podcast co-host, Tim Adams, suggested his mom join us on last week’s episode of Zoom Town, I enthusiastically agreed, thinking of the wonderful content another mom has helped her son-in-law create on the podcast Debra Gets Red Pilled.

The most recent DGRP episode with Buck Johnson is fantastic because Debra is sticking with it, despite the obvious discomfort she sometimes experiences at the probing questions some of the guests pepper her with.

Because of Debra’s honesty in trying to answer Buck’s questions the main cognitive barrier becomes clear: Donald Trump.

At one point Buck asks Debra to consider a hypothetical situation in which Donald Trump wins the election and the result is her son-in-law, Adam, is NOT facing a job loss because he won’t take the jab. While Debra can acknowledge the situation would be much more beneficial for her son-in-law, she can’t bring herself to verbally acknowledge she would be ok with Trump still being the president.

One reason for this is because Debra is vaxxed and therefore not feeling directly threatened by the loss of bodily autonomy, so her hatred of what Trump represents is able to take cognitive priority over her son-in-law’s uncertain future.

When someone DOES feel directly threatened by government policies, you’d be surprised what kind of stuff one is willing to overlook when it comes to an executive office-holding politician.

For example, I have heard my wife reluctantly admit she is happy Montana’s Governor is a Republican (she did not vote for him and still listens to NPR) because he is trying to keep our state from submitting to the Covidian hysteria more liberal states have already succumbed to.

If you want to listen to a real conversation featuring real people who disagree without going scorched earth on their relationship, listen to the latest from Debra and Adam. It’s like chicken soup for brain.

A Poem For The Concern Trolls

by William Skink

Sometimes, on Saturdays, I let William take the helm for a poem. And this Saturday is one of those Saturdays.

But before getting to my poem for the concern trolls, I wanted to address something one of the trolls said.

Usually feeding the trolls is a bad idea, but this one suggested I could be the one behind the negative comments. There are two plausible reasons for me to do this: I could be trying to pull a Smollett, or I could be trying to drive traffic, since comments does seem to correlate to higher views.

Well, I’m not very savvy when it comes to technology, but I’ll offer this screen shot of the troll’s IP info nonetheless:

If it’s a dynamic IP, probably not much can be gleaned. What I will say is I’m pretty sure Spectrum isn’t an option where I’m at in Missoula County.

Anyway, the poem.

it doesn't have to be goodbye
end obsessors, your materialist cry
has lefty-loosey'd all your screws
and bloody-stained your satan shoes

here I am in Alliance Church
embracing synchronistic quirks
where are you when your heart's done?
lights go out and no more fun?

zombie tool, Lego brick, POP!
is how I know we do not stop
mocking, laughing, I get the need
stemming from a fear to bleed

that's not the flow I got down there
I am NOT womb aware, but
I think I earned my first screams
with the skin they took from me

trust the scalpel? sorry, no
and fuck off with your jib-jab Joe
mostly I'm a peaceful chap
but I'll piñata your sharp attack

let's not go there, let's not fight
despite the speed you steamroll rights
persistence will not win the day
just deepen spirit: at night, we pray

The Oblivious Foot Soldiers Of The Information War

by Travis Mateer

The idea of being a “soldier” is probably abhorrent to the oblivious foot soldiers of the information war. Their weapons are empathy and science, not the guns and hatred of the rightwing anti-vaxxers they are at war with.

Before the world flipped upside down, some of these new normal soldiers were acquaintances of mine. They liked cool music and got tattoos, and I liked cool music and got tattoos. The world made sense.

But now, with the mighty DELTA VARIANT gestating in the selfish body cavities of unvaxxed assholes like me (momentarily vanquishing the humble, pro-humanity work of medicine businesses), those cool acquaintances of mine seem a little less cool with me living my truth of being a totally selfish dick.

Exhibit A:

I don’t want this person to feel like they are taking crazy pills, but my comment on her FB rant might lead to some cognitive dissonance (since she might not have expected me to be so dangerously selfish), so to counter my lack of restraint I added a clarifying post to my FB page.

Exhibit B:

I hope this helps explain where I’m coming from.

If Local Officials Have Their Hands Tied Then Why Is My Daughter Back In Quarantine?

by Travis Mateer

On the eastern side of Montana, in Billings, a city council person by the name of Kendra Shaw issued the following lament on Twitter:

For Shaw, the nightmare is not being able to issue a mask mandate, or other supposed mitigation efforts to stop the spread of a disease so virulent, my middle kid passed it along to a grand total of ZERO of his family members.

But don’t worry, you deeply caring Covidians, my little girl is back in quarantine because someone in her class is now Covid positive, so she won’t be going back to school until October 4th. That means my kindergartner has had only FIVE DAYS of in-school learning this year.

With this context in mind I’m going to make an assertion: Kendra Shaw is full of shit when she claims the “mtleg” literally made it against the law for local communities to do anything about COVID.

Maybe she thinks keeping my kids out of school is nothing, and keeping my little girl from playing with her neighborhood friends is nothing, but as a parent watching the emotional impact, I can tell you this is NOT NOTHING my kids are dealing with.

While my family deals with another round of quarantine, more tents around the Poverello Center are popping up. With such a visible need to house homeless people in Missoula, how can the deeply caring refugee saviors go to the media to panhandle Missoula to assist the Afghanis now needing housing in Missoula?

Here is the shameless effort to pick foreign winners over the socio-economic losers, drug addicts and mentally unwell individuals unable to secure housing for themselves in our liberal utopia:

Most of the Afghans settling in Montana are not actually designated as refugees.

“So they are coming in again as what’s called a humanitarian parolee,” International Rescue Committee Deputy Director Eamon Fahey said.

Typical government-funded resettlement assistance programs won’t work for humanitarian parolees, so families are looking for other accommodation in the meantime.

“So that might be a stay in an Air BnB or a stay in a hotel or something as we are trying to find housing,” Fahey added.

Ah, so they are officially labeled HUMANITARIAN PAROLEES instead of refugees. Isn’t that cute? It’s kinda like Obama calling wars “humanitarian interventions” to mesmerize the easily suggestible liberals with his linguistic sorcery.

I hope no one tells the regular homeless that they have some charity-competition from a subgroup with a little zestier appeal for Missoula’s savior class than their drug addiction/mental illness schtick. Maybe a nice outbreak of Covid among the regular homeless could provide an opportunity to bolster their victimhood status and make them more marketable for additional services and programs.

The big takeaway from all this is that Missoula is a caring community with so much damn compassion we are going to help EVERYONE. So bring us your sick kindergartners, humanitarian parolees, schizos and meth users, disabled veterans, Californians, transgender youth and missing indigenous people. Unless you’re unvaxxed, or holding a machete, then Missoula is the place to be for getting the help you need.

Thanks for helping, Missoula!
