The idea of being a “soldier” is probably abhorrent to the oblivious foot soldiers of the information war. Their weapons are empathy and science, not the guns and hatred of the rightwing anti-vaxxers they are at war with.

Before the world flipped upside down, some of these new normal soldiers were acquaintances of mine. They liked cool music and got tattoos, and I liked cool music and got tattoos. The world made sense.

But now, with the mighty DELTA VARIANT gestating in the selfish body cavities of unvaxxed assholes like me (momentarily vanquishing the humble, pro-humanity work of medicine businesses), those cool acquaintances of mine seem a little less cool with me living my truth of being a totally selfish dick.

Exhibit A:

I don’t want this person to feel like they are taking crazy pills, but my comment on her FB rant might lead to some cognitive dissonance (since she might not have expected me to be so dangerously selfish), so to counter my lack of restraint I added a clarifying post to my FB page.
