Surprise! It’s Almost October…

By JC

I’m one of those folks who believe that U.S. foreign policy (as an extension of plutocrats’ will), is probably the single most important issue facing us as individuals, as families, and as a community. In that light, when I read the writing on the wall, I find that it is time to dig in:

US To Suspend Syria Diplomacy With Russia, Prepares “Military Options”

In the most dramatic diplomatic escalation involving the Syrian conflict in the past years, yesterday John Kerry issued an ultimatum to Russia, in which he warned his colleague Lavrov to stop bombing Aleppo or else the US would suspend all cooperation and diplomacy with Russia.

24 hours later, this appears to be precisely what is about to take place, leading to an even greater geopolitical shock in Syria. According to Reuters, the United States is expected to tell Russia on Thursday it is suspending their diplomatic engagement on Syria following the Russian-backed Syrian government’s intense attacks on Aleppo, U.S. officials said on condition of anonymity.

Why now and what happens next? According to US officials, the Obama administration is now considering tougher responses to the Russian-backed Syrian government assault on Aleppo, including military options. According to Reuters, the new discussions were being held at “staff level,” and have yet to produce any recommendations to President Barack Obama, who has resisted ordering military action against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the country’s multi-sided civil war.

However, now that diplomacy with Russia is set to end, this will give the greenlight for Obama to send in US troops in Syria, with Putin certain to respond appropriately, in what will be the biggest military escalation in the Syrian proxy war in its five and a half year history.

Our cold and hybrid war with Russia is about to heat up quickly. And given that the economy has been in the tank for the last 8 years, and going nowhere but down, it isn’t hard to imagine that history is about to repeat itself. It feels like 1939 all over again, and WWIII is the neocon/neolib wet dream to reset the world order, clean the ledgers, and reassemble new power structures.

And that is the choice our upcoming presidential election is all about: what sort of voice do we want to lead us into the new war? A predictable liberal voice for U.S. exceptionalism imperialism? Or a loose cannon that will narrate the war, like a half drunk good ole boy hanging on the end of the bar?

Coup D’etat in Turkey: Open Thread

By JC

Ok, now it really is getting interesting in the Middle East war. Unless you’ve been off-grid, you’ve undoubtedly heard about the ongoing coup attempt in Turkey. As I watched the coup unfold in near-realtime across a variety of media, it became apparent that everybody is spinning the event to their own purposes, and many pumping out disinformation.

Do the Turkish people (as if there is a monolithic Turkish population) support the military, or do they support President Erdogan? How will this affect NATO, or the American military presence in Turkey, particularly our use of the Incirlik Air Base in SW Turkey? How will it affect the Syrian war? What will the Russians do?

All these, and more, are good valuable questions. And of course, everybody has gone into propaganda hyperdrive trying to push their own agenda and view out there to take hold. So I did a bit of backgrounding, and came across a very interesting piece by Scott Bennett (ignore the popup, just click outside it to read):

Scott Bennett is a U.S. Army Special Operations Officer (11th Psychological Operations Battalion, Civil Affairs-Psychological Operations Command), and a global psychological warfare and counter-terrorism analyst, formerly with defense contractor Booz Allen Hamilton. [yeah, that Booz Allen Hamilton of Ed Snowden notoriety]

This piece of analysis (again, ignore the popup — or read it and then continue by clicking outside the box) was written Dec. 6, 2015, so it is not tainted by today’s events. Of course, one must take into account the nature of the person writing this, as obviously he had a particular bent when working as a psyop analyst. But it sets a good stage that contrasts with most of what is pouring out of the media and inner tubes today — particularly in the West’s mainstream english-speaking media.

I’ll post a clip from it, and this can be an open thread to talk about the ongoing events as the coup unfolds in Turkey. It will undoubtedly be several days before the situation begins to clarify, and we see where it may lead Turkey and the region in the future.

REPLACING PRESIDENT ERDOGAN: THE COMING MILITARY COUP D’ETAT IN TURKEY

As the old saying goes, “What’s good for the goose, is good for the gander.”
— 06 December 2015

Geopolitically this means, “What the U.S. did to Ukraine, Russia can do to Turkey.”

As Russian President Vladimir Putin alluded to, it is only a matter of time before Turkey’s military recognize the courage, strength, and wisdom Allah has blessed them with as warriors, and act as warriors by defending their own Turkish citizens from the insane and self-destructive recklessness of President Erdogan—who will very soon bring down upon Turkey  the curses of God and his destruction if he is not forcibly removed from power by the righteousness of the Turkish military. As much as Allah has taken away Erdogan’s mind, Allah will defend all soldiers who work to free Turkey from Erdogan’s tyrannical and sinful grasp.

As a former psychological warfare officer, I look at this problem and solution through the enemy’s eyes, first and foremost, for it is the only way to “influence the mind and heart” of the enemy. So here is what the Turkish Muslim will think and act.

The average Turk will understand now that Turkey has a very simple choice:  Either replace insanity with intelligence and weakness with power, and thereby soon discover a new destiny of peace, independence, wealth, prosperity, and hope; or continue on the present insane, downward course Turkey’s President Erdogan is chasing, and inevitably be hated, torn apart, and eventually forgotten by the world (and Allah) under the smoldering ashes of civil war and destruction.  Only the Turkish military has the honor and courage to make this choice, for only the Turkish soldier has the strength to resist becoming himself a tyrant who betrays trust by harming the civilians who obey them, and hurting Allah who loves them.

This means Allah has created Turkey’s military to save the Turkish people.  Allah knows Turkey’s military are the only men with the honor and intelligence to save their nation from slavery or destruction.

Erdogan has been practicing magic, going to soothsayers and fortune tellers, and accessing the occult—issues that are strictly forbidden in Islam. He has also been murdering journalists who have exposed the criminal oil smuggling operation he and his son have organized. This is a sin against Islam, and must be cleansed from Turkey’s name and her people.

The military must stop this because it is bringing a curse upon Turkey in the eyes of the world…

Hiding in Plain Sight: John-Mark

By JC

Having been intrigued by another blogger’s new found life’s calling examining the seeming early deaths of so many of our “talented” comedians, musicians, actors and politicians, I thought I’d try my hand at the craft. But never did I think I’d come across this: said blogger has all along been nothing more than a “deceased” comedic actor hiding in plain site! Yes, you heard that right. Mark Tokarski is John Candy!

John Candy died a very mysterious death in Durango, Mexico. While he was working on the movie Wagons West! it was reported that he died of an apparent heart attack. Adding to the mystery was the fact that right before he died he sold his interest in the Toronto Argonauts, worth millions. So he had plenty of money with which to assume a new identity and leave his life as a failing actor before he became a footnote in the annals of Hollywood.

An official autopsy was never performed, and circumstances were setup to implicate that John had a heart attack. But it seems that he tipped off some people that he was going to disappear in Mexico, and his “funeral” was attended by many of his comedian friends, and Dan Akroyd — his business partner — gave the eulogy. No doubt Dan and John Candy’s other friends had the last laugh at a private get together after the sham funeral. And John Candy would be 65 this year, apparently about the same age as Mark!

Using the incredible techniques developed by Mark Tokarski at Pieceofmindful.com, I discovered that John Candy and Mark bear an incredible likeness. I adjusted the pictures so that the pupils were equidistant, and superimposed on the other, and just as Mark has said, facial features lining up are a unique event — one in millions. Well, obviously John Candy died and replaced Mark Tokarski in 1994. What happened to the original Mark is not known at this time, but I will keep investigating to see where he turned up. Maybe he has a twin brother somewhere that had an identity to assume. Maybe the mob that John was associated with (we know all actors who own bars in Chicago are mob-related!) took Mark out and threatened his family so they would keep it hush.

So here is the evidence that I present to you, the first picture being the two images I assembled from Mark’s Linkedin public profile, and the other from a John Candy fan site.

John-Mark

And here is the composite image of the two, with John Candy overlaid on the left. Look at the remarkable match — the bags under the eyes, the dimples and chipped teeth, the double chin! Apparently John was able to lose much of the weight he put on while under the stress of being an actor and of all his other business interests, after assuming Mark’s identity. Everybody knows how hard it is for an actor to deal with stress, and John did it by eating. Mark’s nose has been surgically altered to give it a little bit of a hook, but that was done so that it wasn’t quickly apparent to the average shmuck that they were being duped. The crook in the nose remained the same after reconstructive plastic surgery. Everything else lines up perfectly — ear lobes, eyebrows, lips, receding hair line!

Amazing what one can do with an expert application of Photoshop like Mark has taught us how to do! And I find it fascinating that the match between the two in these photos is even better than any of the photo pairs that Mark has assembled. What an awesome way to discover the true reality of the lifestyles of the rich and famous!

I give you John-Mark:

Apologies to the family, friends and fans of John Candy for this piece of sarcasm.

Tomorrow has Arrived

By JC

“What will happen tomorrow?”

“Should not someone, somewhere in an authoritative position in our government, on a continuing basis, be counting the immediate costs of disappointments, . . . calculating the impacts on our international position, and keeping in mind the long range wisdom of activities which have entailed our virtual abandonment of the international “golden rule,” and which, if successful to the degree claimed for them, are responsible in a great measure for stirring up the turmoil and raising the doubts about us that exist in many countries of the world today? What of the effects on our present alliances? What will happen tomorrow?”

Well, tomorrow is here, and what we see in Syria and the Middle East — and the refugee crisis with its effects abroad (and here in Montana) — is a result of almost a century of U.S. covert foreign policy. The above quote is from the 1956 “Bruce-Lovett” report on the CIA, a report that is still classified and hidden away from the public, though some snippets have escaped as a result of other reports. The above quote was snipped from a piece on the meta surrounding the report.

The Bruce-Lovett report reminds us, once again, that our chickens (foreign and covert policies) will always come home to roost… even 50-75 years later. Today’s refugee problem is nothing more than a reminder that an unchallenged foreign/covert policy — either unchallenged by the press or by the people during elections — will have unforeseen consequences that will be passed off by short-sighted individuals as a result of events concocted (e.g. Assad’s “chemical weapons attack”) to conceal the real roots of chaos.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. published an interesting piece at Politico a few days ago, referencing some of these themes:

“The so called “Bruce-Lovett Report,” to which he [Joseph P. Kennedy] was a signatory, described CIA coup plots in Jordan, Syria, Iran, Iraq and Egypt, all common knowledge on the Arab street, but virtually unknown to the American people who believed, at face value, their government’s denials. The report blamed the CIA for the rampant anti-Americanism that was then [ca. 1956] mysteriously taking root “in the many countries in the world today.” The Bruce-Lovett Report pointed out that such interventions were antithetical to American values and had compromised America’s international leadership and moral authority without the knowledge of the American people. The report also said that the CIA never considered how we would treat such interventions if some foreign government were to engineer them in our country.”

60 years later, the words of the Bruce-Lovett report still ring true. What this tells me is that any presidential election campaign that doesn’t directly challenge American foreign/covert policy will be doomed to continue and/or repeat the mistakes of the past. JFK paid for this with his life, when he challenged Allen Dulles (and fired him) for his failed shadow foreign/covert policies, particularly the failed Bay of Pigs operation that was intended to draw JFK into war with Cuba, and potentially by alliance, with the USSR.

So, again, what led me off on this tangent today (besides Skinks’s piece here), started with a piece at the Saker’s:

“It is time for Americans to turn America away from this new imperialism and back to the path of idealism and democracy. We should let the Arabs govern Arabia and turn our energies to the great endeavor of nation building at home. We need to begin this process, not by invading Syria, but by ending the ruinous addiction to oil that has warped U.S. foreign policy for half a century.””
