The Joke Of Transparent Democracy In Missoula, Montana – by Travis Mateer

Having a transparent, responsive local government is an alleged priority of Mayor Andrea Davis, who is seeking reelection this season. It’s SO important that she lists this goal as being her NUMBER ONE goal on her website. Here’s the screenshot, which includes a portion of Davis’ face and the amusement she must experience doing EXACTLY the opposite of running a transparent, responsive local government.

Last night, during the absurdity of the Danny and Kristy show, I decided I was going to try and. make a public comment. The last time I tried using my phone, since I lack an internet connection at my apartment, it didn’t work. Would following the instructions work for me THIS TIME?

The answer was a resounding NO, and it wasn’t just me this time. Another citizen, Chris Kennedy, made a public comment around 9:30pm that included explaining how his first few attempts to use the online system to make a public comment didn’t work for him. He also pointed out how moving general public comments to near the end of the agenda appears to have had a negative impact on citizen turnout. I agree.

All the people who keep turning out to protest our President and his Data Kingpin, Elon, claim to love and support Democracy, but they don’t seem to understand a functioning Democracy requires citizens to be informed, and the way that generally happens is through legacy media platforms. Well, here’s a Missoulian reporter making fun of Martin Kidston’s platform, the Missoula Current, because…well, just see for yourself.

Isn’t this hilarious? Also, a little bit depressing, since people actually think Kidston is a real journalist, and not a political twerp I’ve been targeted by through his shitty, inaccurate reporting.

When you get past the funny typo you might wonder how the two Socialists performing their Danny and Kristy Show could be construed as taking a “DOGE approach” to local government. If you watched the performance, like I did, you know that our two Socialists were asked to be a bit more specific after they collectively hallucinated the existence of 3 million dollars to keep the Johnson Street Shelter open.

And how did they respond?

In a somewhat surprising rhetorical move, Kristen Jordan did some curious shit-talking on the city staff hired to help address homelessness. Jordan’s contention? They’ve done a shit job, so their jobs should be eliminated and the savings should go to keeping the shelter open. I was GREATLY amused by this foot-shooting gambit because now my impression of our two Socialists has altered slightly on the ACTUAL goal of our Socialists, and it’s NOT finding solutions to complex problems, it’s CHAOS!

The reference last night to DOGE couldn’t have been better timed, since my DOGE dump truck creation has proven to be a powerful narrative tool, one I plan on using when I start knocking doors to campaigns against the Danny and Kristy Show.

Stay tuned, Missoula. This political season is going to be VERY interesting. And, if our legacy media’s reticence to report on the Ellie dumpster fire is any indication of local media’s appetite to help inform our citizenry, you’re gonna want to check out THIS SPACE for information I guarantee you won’t find anywhere else.
