On December 2nd Missoula’s City Council discussed, once again, the challenges of “urban camping”. I didn’t watch it live, because I’m not allowed in person, and my phone wasn’t playin the video. Instead, I checked out this event, which was promoted by KPAX.

The group “hosting” this discussion is not the group I’m interested in, though I will note my previous coverage of “Good Works” includes this post about the casual fascism of public/private partnerships.
Good Works is obviously political, and they are included in the article as the group “hosting” this event, but who is LEADING this discussion? Is it JUST the Missoula Community Development Corporation? Because that’s all I’m seeing in this little article (emphasis mine):
Since houselessness is such a personal topic, those who are part of the coalition believe that providing education is the key when coming up with solutions.
“A lot of what is going on is not always accessible to folks in our community and people are unsure who to talk to and what they can do and where they can put their energy, and how to be a good neighbor,” Missoula Community Development Corporation community engagement specialist Jana Richter told MTN.
“And the thought with this space is to just provide a few avenues so we can help people who are currently unhoused and also prevent folks who are one job loss or one eviction away from becoming unhoused,” Richter continued.
The larger group also mentioned in this article is the Area Housing Justice Coalition, but since I actually attended this event for the few minutes I could stand listening to the cult-like groupthink on display, I have another name for my Homeless Industrial Complex radar, and that name is Catalyst Montana.

When I looked into this group, the behavior of the participants last night started making more sense. I heard people booing and jeering the City Council meeting as Jana tried making this astro-turf event appear grassroots, but it’s not.
Catalyst Montana is the rebranded political organization I knew as the Human Rights Network, a political group that only cares about FAKE white supremacists, not the real ones I’ve written about. To show you how their political agitation works, just check out their funny little snitch form:

Knowing what I know about the political posturing of the human rights network, I’m disappointed to see a group with more credibility getting in bed with these astro-turfers, so I made a little comment on Facebook to let them know what’s actually happening.

The result of the vote last night was the result of people in Missoula seeing for themselves what our Homeless Industrial Complex has done, and because of that, this happened:
The Missoula City Council voted on Monday evening to approve an amendment prohibiting urban camping in public parks.
Members of the public offered comment during the meeting which lasted for nearly six hours.
“I’m all for giving hands up, but the hands out that we’ve been given in this city doesn’t work.”
Repeatedly doing the same things that don’t work and expecting different results is fucking madness, so I’m glad to see Council being slightly less insane in how they are responding to so many years of failure, but what I saw last night at Good Works has me VERY concerned about the persistent stupidity of left-leaning political operators and their willingness to use people like Clayton to further their political agenda.

I saw Clayton last night at Good Works and said hello to him, but since I was being VERY LOUD in my VERY CONSPICUOUS departure from this groupthink gathering of agitators and political operators, I said it wasn’t a good time to tell him how TERRIBLE my life has been recently while still doing this exposing of local corruption thing.
Don’t let two posts two days in a row lead you, dear reader, to think I’m back with daily posts, because I’m not, but I couldn’t let my new discovery go unmentioned during such tumultuous times here in Mountain Town, America.
If you would like to help me NOT downgrade my blog’s business plan, please consider donating to Travis’ Impact Fund (TIF), or don’t. Like I said yesterday, I’ll keep writing regardless of whether it’s posts I’m writing, stories, or poems about CrossFit trainers.
Thanks for reading!
I forgot to mention how I know Catalyst Montana is the former Human Rights Network, the dude at the event SAID AS MUCH.
One day I truly would like to know how you are tied to the creepy, phishy hacker wannabe over at Missoula mugshots. Why is it that only people like y’all no ChatGPT and AI art so well and how to integrate into information collection?
Once a convict always a convict
Do you need to be convicted of something to be called a convict? Because yesterday the word I heard loud and clear was DISMISSED.
How about we establish a list of homeowners who are friendly to people who are experiencing a downturn and would allow them to park their motorhome or camper in front of their house for the five specified days then rotating it out with another family who’s willing to do the same let’s compile a list of such
