After asking around about the dead body found mid-November and STILL not identified as of January 22nd, 2026, one rumor emerged as pretty out there, but it’s one I’m considering nonetheless: was it a cop?

I’m publishing the above image from the abandoned encampment today because I think the presence of Unicorns might be significant.

Two months before the unidentified body was found, my co-worker, Leah Hartley, was found dead in an irrigation ditch near her apartment. The person of interest interviewed by Missoula Detectives told me (before telling me I no longer worked at Silk Road) about one question the Detectives asked him, since he lived in the apartment unit right above Leah. Did he ever hear Leah having loud sex?

Why would they ask a question like that?

One reason I’m entertaining the possibility that the dead body found in November could be a cop is because of how VERY aggressive local law enforcement has been lately. After I documented a big police response with the use of a drone on January 8th, there have been several other big police responses, with the latest getting some attention from Reddit:

With this in mind, does it make sense that the reason for this response was some blood found on the street?

While I continue to do REAL citizen journalism, with only the occasional (and much appreciated) donation coming my way, a new whisper campaign is materializing against me, which is why I took immediate action and investigated myself on January 16th.

I’m taking this whisper campaign VERY seriously because I understand, better than most, how much being innocent doesn’t matter. What matters to the city and county of Missoula is throwing as much lawfare at me as they can to see what they can make stick.

Marijuana DUI? Dismissed. First restraining order violation? Dropped, but it laid the foundation for the second one, which stuck, and then there’s the amazing plea deal that resulted in six months of my probation officer being my editor to make sure United Way of Missoula County remained safe from my dangerous fingers.

Speaking of danger, when will the Missoula County Attorney’s Office finally announce their “secret charges” that they’re cooking up against Brandon Bryant after he lost a street brawl with four cops and their taser?

Before this latest round of criminal charges for Brandon Bryant I wrote about what I saw starting to materialize against him. Then, a few days later, I was writing about the violence he endured at the hands of our well-trained “officers” of the law. Then, at the end of October, I challenged local media to cover his case.

I suspect when local media finally DOES cover Bryant’s case, it will be because very serious terrorism-related charges will be getting dropped. THEN the local media will be allowed to skewer Bryant (again).

“My dad told me not to talk to,” said the youth.

Who was dad, and who was this youth telling me, the lowly dishwasher, that I was forbidden terrain?

I learned later that daddy was one of those lawyers I wrote about who turned his kid into a convenient “climate warrior” so that a propaganda group in Oregon could exert maximum influence on Montana legislation.

Thirteen young Montanans who successfully challenged the legality of the state’s climate policies are now asking the Montana Supreme Court to weigh in on several bills state lawmakers passed earlier this year in response to that victory, which blocked a law barring the state from considering climate in permitting decisions.

In a lawsuit filed today, Rikki Held and a dozen co-plaintiffs from that earlier lawsuit argue that three bills passed by the state’s Republican-controlled Legislature earlier this year don’t comply with the state Supreme Court’s December 2024 order. The bills the plaintiffs are challenging revise sections of the Montana Environmental Policy Act and the Montana Clean Air Act dealing with greenhouse gases and the state’s regulatory review process.

When you allow well-funded lawyers who are despicable enough to use children in order to stake a future veto claim on any Montana legislation, then more time in court is what you’ll get.

So, who is pushing the kids into the spotlight for their climate agenda?

Here are a few of the top dogs (though Mat might be a bottom) on a global mission to use children “from diverse backgrounds” across the world to bend the knee of governments for the earth. Just read their amazing mission statement:

With all this legal posturing, what kind of lesson might a climate warrior learn at his cute little job serving fancy food to weeding guests? That principles are important? Or, that “rights” only exist if you have money and a willing lawyer to enforce them?

For this part of our lesson, let’s review what might be legally actionable regarding “retaliation” in Montana:

Could looking into and writing about the death of my co-worker, Leah Hartley, earn me retaliation? When the guy who does the hiring at work carries out the hour-reduction for the man who signs the paychecks, it can feel like it. Especially when the hire-guy was an official person of interest in the brief murder investigation.

A month after I wrote my article about Leah, this image appeared on the work computer.

What kind of message does this send to the youth, especially the young climate warriors with lawyer parents making money doing an end-around the legislative process?

You would think a business owner would see this image, hear his employee express discomfort, and immediately remove it, perhaps even apologize–you know, to set a good example for the “family business” you claim to run.

Nope! Instead I had to put a note in the computer system to ensure my likeness photo-shopped on a victim of a political assassination wasn’t greeting everyone clocking in and out for work.

With no consequences for anyone else regarding the actions taken against me over the last few years, the message is pretty clear. You can do and say whatever the fuck you want about me because you won’t have to be accountable for your actions.

Today I’m offering Missoula a choice for MLK Day: you can support narrative controllers, like United Way of Missoula County, or you can support ME, the biggest threat to narrative control our local leaders have had to deal with since Krakauer exposed the Missoula County Attorney’s Office and other alleged protectors of public safety.

Now, you might be wondering, who is Dr. Damian Chase-Begay and what might he be talking about today? Well, before completely changing his name, Chase-Begay was known as D’Shane Barrett, a Native man who went to California to see how amazingly they handle drug addicts in San Francisco:

Barnett — who is Mandan/Arikara — has worked in the American Indian health field for more than two decades. He is the former director of the National Council of Urban Indian Health in Washington, D.C., and currently serves as the executive director of All Nations Health Center in Missoula.

Barnett earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology, with an option in inequality and social justice, from the University of Montana and has a master’s degree in healthcare administration and interprofessional leadership from the University of California, San Francisco.

He is currently completing his doctorate in public health at UM.

After returning from California, did this “Doctor” do good things at the All Nations Health Center? Or, did the All Nations Health Center experience serious problems in 2024 that unethically disrupted the continuity of care for the patients after a clinician was fired without consideration for the clients?

The firing came after an investigation by the board of directors about a past employee grievance. However, the behavioral health staff questioned the legitimacy of the investigation considering that nobody in the department was interviewed about the issue.  Gervais was also only given 4 days to terminate with her clients which is against their ethical codes within their license.

The firing has caused a massive ripple effect on the department and its ability to provide care for their clients. All but one of the department’s clinicians aren’t yet licensed to practice without licensure supervision, which Gervais used to provide. Meaning the behavioral health department has now dropped the number clinicians seeing clients from eight down to just one.

In an official statement from ANHC Board of Directors regarding the situation: 

“This is a private personnel issue that we cannot provide details about, and that so long as staff stay employed there will not be a disruption of service to clients and community. All nations continues to do everything we can to ensure our clients can access the physical, mental, and spiritual care they need at the center.”

However, the behavior health staff claims there has been a major disruption of service since the start of 2024. According to the department, there are an estimated 75 clients currently without care and 25-30 incoming clients that had to be referred elsewhere due to almost all the clinicians being unable to practice with no supervisor. Leading to a possibility of the department being shutdown, causing the staff to lose their jobs, and putting indigenous clients into difficult positions.

While the All Nations Health Center had their serious issues, undermining the actual care clients received, our “Doctor” was getting money to find more specific ways to pretend to help his fellow Indians.

The NIH HEAL Initiative has awarded Dr. Damian Chase-Begay, core faculty in School of Public and Community Health, a K01 Career Development Award in Implementation Science.

With this funding, Dr. Chase-Begay will rigorously adapt an evidence-based substance abuse prevention intervention to incorporate traditional ceremonial practices (TCPs) and then test this intervention with urban Indigenous young adults in Montana. Aim 1 will seek to obtain community-informed guidance on the selection and adaptation of an evidence-based substance use prevention intervention, and strategies for incorporation of TCPs, through a sequential mixed-methods process. Aim 2 will seek to test the effectiveness and sustainability of the adapted EBP at five UIHO sites throughout Montana via a hybrid type 2 implementation-effectiveness trial.

While promoting my little fundraiser today I was told by someone that I’m a suspect in a tire slashing. This person was told to call the police if they saw me. Thankfully I was told of the alleged incident instead, so I walked the two blocks to the police station to see if an accusation against me had indeed been made.

After waiting for about 15 minutes an officer came to talk to me and said that, yes, there was a reported tire slashing and, yes, my name was indeed put forward, though the cop assigned the case had yet to review the footage. After assuring the officer that I had slashed absolutely zero tires, I explained a little context of how my employment ended, then offered to be further available if there were any more questions for me.

All this made me think about an acronym that I find helpful to consider when dealing with certain types of people, and that acronym is DARVO. Here’s what it means:

DARVO is an acronym for Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender, a manipulative tactic used by abusers and perpetrators to avoid accountability by denying wrongdoing, attacking the accuser, and portraying themselves as the victim, effectively turning the situation upside down and making the actual victim feel like the wrongdoer. This psychological strategy gaslights the victim, confuses the issues, and is seen in various contexts like domestic abuse, legal battles, and even institutional settings, often leaving survivors feeling disoriented and doubting their reality.

It’s unfortunate to see tactics like this used, but after years of defending myself against some very troubled people, it’s nothing new. In fact, it’s pretty damn predictable.
