Zoom Town: Human Services Before The Zoom

by Travis Mateer

This episode of Zoom Town is a conversation with my friend and former co-worker, Patrick Duganz. We discuss our shared time working at the Poverello Center (2008-2011), a homeless shelter in Missoula, and all the ups and downs that work entailed.

Our description of the clients we served is sometimes graphic. We discuss in detail what the ravages of alcohol abuse can do, the violent murder of Lee Nelson, and the difficultly of setting a temperature for a weather policy to allow us to serve individuals under the influence of drugs and alcohol during the extreme winter of 2010.
