Serial Killer, Regular Killer, Or Culture Killer: The Death Of Leah Hartley – by Travis Mateer

Before I worked with Leah in a commercial kitchen, she recognized me from my time working at the shelter. As someone who had been getting services at the time, I’m glad she had a good impression of me as I worked toward the nearly impossible goal of helping people amidst serious drug, alcohol and mental health issues.

Leah wasn’t homeless at the time of her death, but her return to drugs and alcohol was a definite factor. The judicial system already had its claws in her thanks to a DUI, and drugs as potent as Fentanyl might have been involved, if Leah’s own reports about what was happening to her can be trusted. Unfortunately not everything Leah was reporting before her death could be trusted, since I know of numerous calls she made to 911 because of what appeared to be paranoia at the time.

While the police have at least one person of interest I know of, my own inquiries and familiarity with sketchy street characters means there are people I would be looking at were I to have the ability to do so, like the asshole who rides his bike around town with different masks on. His street name? Jacoby.

Jacoby was actually seen hanging out with Leah at her apartment at least once in the weeks leading up to her death. I’ve been asking around about Jacoby and the reports aren’t good, including Flippers kicking him out after he repeatedly came in to pocket candy. I was told his behavior escalated quickly with the race card when told to stop coming in and just taking shit.

Another person of interest is someone I’ve become very familiar with since he assaulted two Department of Transportation staff during a 2022 homeless camp cleanup I was involved with. After Todd Keith Spence continued his troubling behavior, which includes allegedly spiking Cannabis with Fentanyl and literally killing people, like I reported in 2023, he is DEFINITELY someone I consider capable of being a serial killer.

To back up this perspective I spoke with someone who lived out at the Reserve Street camps with Spence and she said he would absolutely target women by zeroing in on couples having relationship trouble. Then, when a woman would storm off upset, Spence would quickly attempt to “help” her by giving her drugs. Is this the kind of predator who might have actual kills under his belt?

What other fun characters live in Leah’s hood?

For those who read of the recent SWAT action in Missoula, this happened just a few blocks from where Leah was found dead:

Missoula police served a warrant Thursday afternoon, prompting a large law enforcement presence on the 1700 block of South 4th Street West.

The Missoula Police Department, along with SWAT and assisting agencies, carried out the warrant.

Whitney Bennett, communications officer for the department, originally told NBC Montana one man was arrested.

Timothy Valentine, 39, is charged with resisting arrest and obstructing a peace officer.

In a follow up press release, police announced Isaiah Littlebull, 27, was taken into custody for resisting arrest.

With the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office no longer releasing publicly available mugshots without hoop-jumping I’m not willing to do, here are two images I grabbed off Facebook of our local gangstas!

If this wasn’t delightful enough regarding the aggressive activity in my hood where my co-worker’s death is being investigated as a homicide, a dispute last night–SUNDAY NIGHT–resulted in gunshots and, so far, ZERO arrests!

Missoula police arrived on the scene and found the people who were involved in a verbal and physical disturbance in the 1600 block of South 3rd Street West.

Missoula Police Department spokeswoman Whitney Bennett says officers confirmed that a gun had been fired.

A 23-year-old woman, a 22-year-old man, and a 21-year-old man were involved in the incident.

No injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire.

According to a news release, no arrests have been made as an investigation into the incident continues.

When I was pulled over on a Sunday night a few months ago on my way to work because my car still has headlight issues, and my license still has suspension issues, our local police had no problem arresting ME and taking ME to jail. Do you feel safer, Missoula, knowing scary situations like me and my journalism and my friend and his stick are treated as the REAL threats while Missoula devolves into gangster land drama fit for the streets of Chicago or Baltimore?

One of the final possibilities I will note here at the end of this sad post is the real possibility that Leah was so unable to safely walk because of her level of intoxication that she fell into the water diversion ditch and accidentally drowned. In this scenario the culture of alcohol and drug abuse that Missoula nurtures with its ubiquitous victim card for every addict, but played without any actual hope for actual help from legitimate treatment services, was the culprit, like it has been for so many on the streets who have succumbed to addiction.

There are other aspects of this case I am choosing to withhold from publication, for now, but I’ll keep tracking this case as closely as I can.

Thanks for reading.

Local Dysfunction Amidst National Assassination Tragedy – by Travis Mateer

Is City Councilor, Stacie Anderson, a liar or just stupid? Let’s try and answer this very important question as America wakes up to the post-Charlie Kirk assassination reality we have just entered.

My day got a kickstart yesterday when a homeless man I’ve tracked for a few years made me feel unsafe after a brief interaction at City Hall. I had just spent $5 bucks to get a printout of his criminal history when this interaction occurred. Here’s the two pages that include A LOT of dismissals by City prosecutors. Why?

Why does this registered sexual offender with an incest charge out of Helena seem to get such preferential treatment? Especially when you consider how multiple sources of mine who, in 2023, were telling me that Todd Keith Spence was associated with SEVERAL overdose deaths because of his known preference to spike his Cannabis with Fentanyl?

The police response I got yesterday featured a cop who claimed pre-knowledge of my concerns regarding Spence when he told me, on the public sidewalk, that he knew Spence was, quote, my “ARCH NEMESIS”. Huh? This unprofessional behavior indicating bias is why I’ll be filing a complaint against Missoula PD today.

When I called in to the Public Safety Committee yesterday I did so after finding the CORRECT information, since the conference ID posted for THIS meeting was incorrect. I’ll post the proof of this claim after the video below, where Stacie Anderson first attempts to interrupt me, then makes her stupid/lying claim after I ended my comment and hung up.

After calling out the Crisis Intervention Training that cops are supposed to get specifically, I referenced the assassination, which had just occurred. Notice how EMPTY the “horseshoe” was yesterday as those who get paid to show up, like our funny Socialists, Kristen Jordan and Danny Carlino, were conspicuous no-shows.

Now, here’s the screenshot of the inaccurate information posted at the city website that proves Councilor Anderson is either stupid or a liar:

And here’s the old 2022 mugshot of Todd Keith Spence after he assaulted TWO Department of Transportation staff, which resulted in ONE assault charge, suggesting that 1+1=1 in this retarded town.

I’ll be writing more about why Todd Spence is one of my PERSONS OF INTEREST in the death of my co-worker, Leah Hartley, hopefully sometime next week. Maybe our cops can read my shit and learn a thing or two about the culture of drugs and exploitation our liberal leadership has allowed to worsen while I’ve been raising the alarm FOR YEARS about the predictable consequences.

Get ready, Missoula, this new era won’t be kind to those with weak constitutions.

Democrat Swindler, Abbey Lee Cook Vs. Drone Whistleblower, Brandon Wayne Bryant – by Travis Mateer

War is hell. When you visit Brandon Wayne Bryant’s Wikipedia page, for example, you can read about how he watched a target slowly bleed out and die. As long as the violence was REAL and directed at poor brown people in foreign lands, no one was going to criminally charge Brandon Bryant for a crime because his actions were in service to Uncle Sam.

Who was Abbey Lee Cook killing? Only herself with all the stress because obviously it was the STRESS of being over-extended that caused this political grifter and wedding planner kind of like, you know, move money around to somehow directly benefit herself because, as I said, SO MUCH STRESS!

Abbey Lee Cook, 31, told the court she had an unmanageable workload leading up to the 2024 election, but failed to connect that stress to her embezzling from several campaigns.

“I took on too much work for my time capabilities and got overwhelmed and turned around and was not properly tracking my time, or what was properly owed and did not do a good job of recordkeeping or doing the job for which I was hired. And as a result, knowingly made transfers and did things to cover for performance.”

That response, the first statement Cook has publicly made about a crime punishable by up to 20 years in prison per charge, prompted Chief Judge Brian Morris to remind Cook she stole and spent the money.

“It wasn’t just terrible performance. The government alleges you used some of this money for personal needs, personal bills, credit card payments, payments for vehicles, that sort of thing,” Morris said.

Abbey Lee Cook just concluded the part of the criminal justice process where guilt is determined by pleading guilty on September 9th, but, according to other reports, shady shit continues to surface.

Federal charges against Cook are specific to the embezzlement of $253,000 from a half-dozen political committees and nothing else. However, a common theme of unmet commitments is surfacing in other aspects of the accused’s business dealings.

In reviews of Anchor G posted to The Knot, a popular wedding planning website, former clients talk of paying deposits for wedding services but getting nothing in return. Only in the last couple of months have those reviews been countered by a slate of 5-star ratings.

Cook’s event business, which centered around Helena’s Windsor Ballroom, had left the venue and has been replaced by a pop-up church on Sundays. Anchor G’s business license, per the Montana Secretary of State, was involuntarily canceled last December. The Independent Record reported this week that 2025 East Helena High School prom, which had booked the venue through Cook, had to make other plans.

For Brandon Bryant, the criminal “justice” process is just getting going, with criminal charges that must have been filed at the last minute, since they weren’t in the system when I checked that morning. Also, it appeared to me that Judge Holloway seemed a bit surprised at the shit-show that landed in her courtroom, a room where I could see the distinct green of a certain species of Butterfly.

After Missoula city police showed Brandon Bryant how they deal with fear through the confident violence of qualified immunity, administering a black eye, a bruised arm, pressure to the back, and the electric shock of taser strikes, Bryant really should have been more polite and considerate of social norms when he expressed himself. Instead he did what he often does online, which is sound off in very extreme ways, and now THAT will become the focus of our criminal “justice” system.

While the rest of our local media doesn’t appear to have noticed yet what Brandon Bryant is facing, here’s the majority of Bryan’t appearance in two parts. Apologies to the heads that provided cover for my effort to document this latest legal episode for the clearly targeted whistleblower:

While Cops Deal With Madame Butterfly, Violent Aggressors Skate Free

This morning, while walking to court, I saw several CITY cops dealing with Madame Butterfly again on COUNTY property. Where is the Sheriff’s Office? Are they still too busy moving in to their riverside offices across the street from jail to help out city counterparts deal with someone who needs mental health services?

For an entertaining look at what I saw this morning here’s the footage I recorded of our nice police officers interacting with me as I record the performative charade we call “justice” in this retarded town:

If the cops weren’t dealing with bullshit maybe they could find the other three individuals who violently assaulted some Missoulians last month. Here’s a portion of the article reporting on this unsurprising violence and the similarly unsurprising NON response of over a dozen bystanders:

According to court documents, Doyle pushed a victim to the ground, causing physical bodily injury.

“They were trying to kill him,” Kathy, another member of the group who asked not to be identified by her real name, said. “I have never seen anyone attack someone like that.”

Kathy said she threw her body over John and tried to defend him, resulting in the men attacking her as well, kicking her and leaving her with a bruise on her chest, she added.

Another woman, “Jane”, also got involved as “John” got his ass kicked by FOUR men. Did the cops bother to get footage from neighboring businesses? No. Did bystanders help? No. Is Kathy shocked at what Missoula has become? Yes, apparently she didn’t get the memo that our lovely town is a violent cesspool of alcohol and drug fueled depravity.

A bartender at Stockman’s Bar, Will Preeschl, said Missoula police requested a copy of their security video from the night, but the camera didn’t capture any of the altercation. Managers at two neighboring businesses said police hadn’t requested their video footage, but their camera range was similarly limited.

Kathy said about 20 people were standing around on the sidewalk in the area, but no one intervened.

“No one in the community did anything,” Kathy said. “Missoula has always been a very safe place for me. This is something I never would have seen coming.”

Moving on to a different kind of violence, four is the same number of cops Brandon Bryant danced with late last month. Here’s a picture from the incident Bryant is supposedly facing several charges for, including assaulting a “peace” officer. Funny.

This morning I checked with the Clerk of Court Office and so far NO charges have been officially filed in District Court, Justice Court, OR Municipal Court. Also, no one in an official capacity has requested footage from inside Charlie B’s, the bar where the catalyst for a police response occurred after a bar patron approached Bryant and called him a WOKE FAGGOT.

And, finally, the worse kind of violence is killing someone, so the discovery of my co-worker dead in a ditch last week has triggered a homicide investigation. Here’s the Missoulian’s brief mention of the Sheriff actually doing something by releasing the name of the deceased, Leah Hartley. Rest in peace, Leah.

While I know A LOT about this case, I’m refraining from writing about it until I know even more. When the time is right, though, I will be writing up something that I guarantee will be more informative than any other media outlet is capable of producing, so stay tuned.

And, as always, thanks for reading.

A Game Of Jurisdictional Futbol – by Travis Mateer

When I saw the neon soccer goals and other detritus assembled on the sidewalk by the Missoula County Courthouse early last week I had a feeling Madame Butterfly was around. As the makeshift camp grew I wondered how our local authorities would deal with this known trouble-maker who HAD housing earlier this year before allegedly throwing AIDS liquid on someone at Blue Heron Place. From the link:

On February 27, 2025, a Missoula Police Department Officer responded to a disorderly conduct call at the Blue Heron Place on Mullan Road. A staff member reported that a resident, later identified as 65-year-old James Muster AKA Madame Butterfly, was threatening the lives of others, screaming, yelling, and refusing to turn down a radio.

A second caller reported that he had been assaulted by Muster, who threw some kind of liquid on him and stated they were going to give the victim “AIDS.” Officers attempted to contact Muster, but Muster immediately fled on foot, requiring a foot chase.

Besides providing a hilarious scene that will now live rent-free in my head, this incident highlights how housing is NOT always the end-all-be-all solution for homelessness. Putting a volatile individual like Madame Butterfly into an apartment unit, for example, just shifted her shit-show to a more contained environment where a whole new set of problems emerged, problems that included a two month stint in jail, at taxpayer expense, and, it would appear, the loss of housing.

By the end of the last week I saw Madame Butterfly speaking with a CITY cop, a COUNTY Sheriff Deputy, and a private Courthouse security guard. What did this impressive trifecta of authority produce? A CITY violation, since at that point much of Butterfly’s belongings were on city sidewalk property. I asked if I could take a picture of the ticket and Madame Butterfly said yes.

This “public nuisance” ticket will require an appearance in court and, if that doesn’t happen, a bench warrant will be issued. I’ve seen this shit play out a hundred times during my seven years working at the shelter. Why hasn’t anything substantive changed?

I asked Madame Butterfly if the Mobile Crisis Unit had been around to help and she said no. It didn’t take me long to determine how I would go about addressing this challenging individual, but that’s not my job anymore, so instead I just suggested she keep ALL her stuff on the Courthouse lawn, since I know from experience that the Sheriff’s Office will be much less likely to do anything about it–kind of like their weird non-action regarding Todd Spence (more on him later this week).

Jurisdictions overseen by Sheriffs appears to be a topic more and more people are including in their critiques of western society falling apart. For example, Zerohedge included the Sheriff when posting a link to a story about the brutal stabbing of a Ukrainian woman on a train in Charlotte, North Carolina:

Once a person becomes a corpse the job of dealing with that corpse falls to wherever that corpse is found. One problem that can occur in our dark and cynical world, though, is that not all corpses are sedentary. Some corpses actually travel, a fact I made fun of before the algorithm gave me this:

To wrap up this hodgepodge of a post here’s a video I really hope is real, since it shows that even Sheriffs sometimes have to deal with the temerity of “equal under the law”.

Stay tuned, I’m hoping to publish something later this week that will provide some perspective on a sad “unattended” death that happened last week, a death that hits way too close to home.
