I wasn’t expecting to see the defense attorneys returning to the Missoula County Courthouse at 2pm because I wasn’t expecting the jury to only take 2 1/2 hours to arrive at a verdict, but they did, and the verdict is in: Charles Michael Covey has been found GUILTY of deliberate homicide in the beating death of Leroy Nelson on November 20th, 2020. Covey was also found guilty of a second charge of evidence tampering.
I’ll have more to say about the result of this trial soon. For now, I’m going to take a shower to see if I can get this filth off.
