The Last Birthday For America?

Do I really think this 4th of July is America’s last? No, but the writing is on the wall, and the dividing lines are more prevalent than ever.

Cognitive dissonance is everywhere I look, along with institutional decay. And I mean ALL institutions. Nothing is exempt.

Instead of focusing on the notion of America’s last birthday, I’m going to remind myself that two years ago today I declared the 4th of July would be my last day of drinking alcohol, and it was.

Here’s to NOT making this 4th of July America’s last birthday.
