Kitty Vs. Blackbird

DEAL

Kitty says to Blackbird
I see you in that tree
wind and shifting weight
the wings of what will be
a swoop beneath the power-line
a dart, then bank, then dive
Kitty says to Blackbird
if you want to stay alive
be my eyes up in the air
while I prowl the ground
you won’t get a better deal
in this vulture-ridden town

Blackbird says to Kitty
I see you in the grass
twitching tail and whiskers
ready for the grab
my jump will be toward the sun
a bank then flapping rise
Blackbird says to Kitty
if you want to stop the lies
simply retract your claws
while I fly away
then maybe I will warn you
when trouble comes your way
