Travis J’s Rear-Naked Chokehold

Because I continue to be busy writing up my larger project with a self-imposed deadline of end-of-the-year, posting will be lighter than usual, but I wanted to draw some special attention to what happens when you choke out someone OUTSIDE the homeless shelter vs. INSIDE the homeless shelter. What other differences and similarities does anyone with local recent historical knowledge see?

On September 28, 2025, a Missoula Police Department Officer was driving on W. Broadway St., near the Poverello Center, and he observed a male, later identified as 32-year-old Travis Johnson, positioned behind another male, John Doe. The officer observed Johnson had Doe in what is commonly referred to as a “rear-naked choke” with Johnson’s right arm encircling Doe’s neck and Doe’s trachea in the crook of Johnson’s elbow.

The officer then observed Johnson release Doe, at which time Doe’s body appeared limp as it fell to the cement, appearing as though his head bounced off the cement. Doe appeared motionless, and the officer believed him to be unconscious.

Upon exiting his patrol car, the officer began yelling for Johnson to stop. Johnson stated that Doe was trying to steal his money. Johnson was directed to place his hands behind his back, at which time he was detained.

At the end of the article we see the result of what MATT JENNINGS as lead County Attorney is doing in this case, vs. Pabst, who did this when the rear-naked chokehold happened INSIDE the Poverello Center.

And, of course, when I say “did” I actually mean “didn’t really do shit”.

Johnson was arrested and transported to the Missoula County Detention Center. He is currently being charged with felony aggravated assault-bodily injury, felony aggravated assault-reasonable apprehension, and felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs. His bond was set at $100,000.

Still Commenting, Still Kicking, And Writing, Writing, Writing… – by Travis Mateer

Don’t worry, Zoom Chron readers, the noticeable lack of posting this week has NOT been the result of Missoula’s woke gestapo retaliating against my annoying persistence in exposing the Homeless Industrial Complex. Instead, I’ve been busy writing because my goal is to have a working manuscript for my Great JuBu Karma Con project by the end of the year, which is rapidly approaching.

As the weather starts to turn, my motivation to use plastic toy bricks subversively and educationally persists, as the video of my public comment below clearly shows. Please not these are COMMISSIONERS not COUNCILORS and the difference is the funny word used recently by the Missoula Redevelopment Agency to avoid giving a shit about how their infrastructure is used by drug addicts–JURISDICTION!

I hope that fills the void left by my absence this week.
