I tried warning them.
I tried expressing in clear, understandable terms that a trillion dollar library that needed a half million dollar injection right after securing a 38 million dollar bond from the public wasn’t the kind of responsible steward with what they already have, so why the hell would you consider giving them $75,000 for a “living roof”? Are you fucking kidding me?
Would the Committee of the Whole listen to reason? Or does their annual remittance ritual with MRA ensure no expenditure is too retarded to say yes to? Considering they struggle with basic technology competency I wasn’t hopeful, but I tried anyway.
I’m glad that their long day was made extra long by having to endure a public comment from someone who knows so much about their schemes, and has done more than most to expose them.
The following day I showed up to the noon board meeting of the Missoula Redevelopment Agency where the important people were falling over themselves schmoozing with Chris Behan, one of their own who left to create a private entity so that he and MRA can be a public/private partnership together, as this memorandum of understanding (pdf) from 2022 clearly indicates:

I can’t convey how icky and awkward it was to be in that boardroom as Behan got handjobs from almost everyone in the room, including the moron running the meeting, who joked about his ability to change bylaws if he wanted, or some smart-ass banter like that.
Funny how that all stopped when I opened my mouth and started talking about how drug-users use their MRA-greased infrastructure. Make sure to watch the whole clip so you can hear my laughter at the moron as I exit the boardroom. Clearly this man doesn’t understand who Tax Increment Financing drains the General Fund and DOES impact law enforcement:
How did these tax-spending junkies vote yesterday? They voted YES to one of the dumbest requests I’ve ever seen because clearly MRA board members need to be pee-tested as well. What more evidence do you need?
Two years ago it was my birthday pleasure to tell Matt Gibson what I thought of him and his move to destroy the Missoula Independent, thus making Missoula a more uninformed and ignorant community.
Today it is my birthday gift to YOU, dear reader, these video clips that provide two fun examples of my brash persistence in the face of disgusting political retaliation, including lawfare, which will lose some of its potency on September 28th.
I know, usually gifts on birthdays go in the other direction, so if anyone wants to direct money to my still active gofundme account, Travis’ Impact Fund (TIF) is waiting for your donation.
Thanks for reading!
